Description
East Grinstead TSC has been described by some as having "one of the best club houses in the South East of England". We are located in East Court a very pleasant park on the edge of East Grinstead, unknown even to some of it's residents.
Location
East Court Park is located on the A264 on the outskirts of East Grinstead towards Tunbridge Wells. We are only a short walk from the town centre for any "tourists" who would like to have a look around while the "shooters" do their stuff. Probably the easiest way to find us if you get lost is to ask for the football club as this is also in East Court and you go past us to reach it.
Directions:
From the north:
On the A22 London Road head south into East Grinstead. Pass the fire station on your left as you join the one-way system. Stay in the left hand lane and take the next left into Moat Road in about 75yd (signed A264 to Tunbridge Wells). Follow this round a couple of 90 degree bends and down a slight slope to a couple of mini roundabouts. Go straight over the first one (be careful as traffic can come from the right quite quickly) and double back on yourself at the second. Before you get to the first roundabout again turn left into East Court Park immediately (about 10yd) before the roundabout. Immediately turn left again in about 5yd and we are about 100yd along on the right.
From the South:
On
the A22 Lewes Road head north towards East Grinstead. Ignore Town Centre sign
at the first roundabout and continue up A22. When you enter the one-way system
stay in the right hand lane. The road does 90 degree right and heads uphill,
stay in the right hand lane. At the top of the hill you follow the lane around
to the right. Immediately move over into the left hand lane and in about 75yd
turn left into Moat Road (signed A264 to Tunbridge Wells). Then as above
directions from North.
In addition, you could have a look at www.streetmap.co.uk

An invitation to try a great equal opportunity sport at your local club
Visit one of the friendliest and best equipped clubs in the South East, located in the grounds of East Court, East Grinstead. Our experienced shooters and qualified coaches will be on hand to provide information, safety briefing and a chance to try your skill at this popular sport. All free of charge and all equipment supplied by the club.
British target shooters have competed in all but three of the Olympic Games since 1894. Malcolm Cooper MBE won gold medals in the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Games. Michael Gault of England achieved 8 Gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in the last three Commonwealth Games. East Grinstead has a number of members who regularly shoot in County and National competitions and some have gone on to win medals in international competitions.
So what’s it all about?
Target shooting is sport for all ages from 14 upwards, where male and female compete on equal terms. Paper targets are used at 25, 50 and 100 yards (or metres) on both indoor and outdoor ranges. It requires muscle control, concentration and, as your ability improves the judgement of wind when shooting outdoors. Like golf, it has a handicapping system that allows all levels of shooters to compete for and win prizes on equal terms.
