Coaching Sessions

NOTE: This item is for existing athletes wishing to improve their technique. If you wish to try our sport please see Inductions/Trial sessions.

The East Grinstead TSC club coaches will be running training sessions for smallbore rifle, air rifle, and air pistol. These sessions are open to all: members, non-members, beginners, or experienced shooters looking for some advice.

If you are a member you do not have to wait for these sessions, just ask!

Content

A session will take place in the clubroom and/or indoor range depending on the specific issues that we are adressing. Content of the sessions is entirely down to indivdual needs. Typically may include:

  • 1-2-1 time with a club coach,
  • a review of individual setup,
  • fitting of adjustable butt plates (rifle)
  • review of overall process using our Scatt systems.

Rifle: Following the success of our previous events, we now include outdoor (50m & 100yd). The outdoor sessions will generally be a group session rather than individual coaching. Outdoor sessions are open to anyone who has passed their Induction / Probationary period and wish to develop their skills further.

You will leave with some training exercises to undertake back at your own club to help improve your technique.

Timings and Fees

Sessions will normally start after the morning shooting has finished and will run from about 1pm - 4pm. Tea and coffee will be available but you will need to bring your own lunch.

The one hour 1-2-1 session cost is £16 per head for non-members, free to members. Additional range time, without Instructor / Coach, will be charged at £10 per hour.

The three hour 1-2-1 session cost is £50 per head for non-members, free to members. Includes range time with Instructor / Coach.

Cost includes targets and backers. You will need to provide your own ammunition and your normal shooting kit. 

If you are a non-member and use a club rifle you will need a letter from your club FAC holder authorising you to carry the rifle to and from the event. We can provide a template letter for this if necessary. If you have a problem transporting a club rifle we can probably fit you up with one of ours for the occasion.

Booking

When sessions are listed on the Diary page the simplest way is to visit the eShop and search for "Training" and select the relevant item.

Members will not be charged, you just need to submit the order.
