This year the match attracted 48 entries, including nine members of the Kenyan Rifle Team who were with us on Friday for a smallbore training session, having previously competed at Bisley in fullbore competitions, and stayed for the weekend to gain competition experience.
A more local contingent from Aldingbourne swept up the C+D Pairs, Juniors and Veterans trophies. While members of the Kenyan team won the Ladies, and picked up trophies in all classes except Class A.
As there was spare range space and in order to provide a bit more competition for our Kenyan visitors a scottish match was also organised to give a team match with a grand aggregate x1200. The rules for this competition were a bit fluid as the number of teams and team size was indeterminate until teams had been assembled! Two teams of 7 were assembled from Sussex and EGTSC members who had already entered the English match. Thus was born the inaugaral Kenya v Sussex v EGTSC international match of which the result was: Sussex 8,095, EGTSC 7,915, Kenya 7,678.
