Work Party 10 April 2016

Range

The work party got quite a bit done on the range to get it ready for the open shoot.:

  • Cleared leaves from firing point (Elaine Kettle)
  • Trimmed more of the trees down the lefthand side of the range (Andy Meyers, Jim Howard)
  • Cleared ditches (Malcolm Brain)
  • Burnt all the trimmings (blokes!).

So quite a useful work party. Thanks everyone.

BISLEY 2015

EGTSC once again had an excellent turnout for the British National Meeting on the outdoor ranges at Bisley. Five members shot for the whole of the week, one shot for the first weekend, plus 3 more for the last Saturday, when the East Grinstead club team represented Sussex County in the Astor competition.

SUSSEX OPEN MEETING 2015

East Grinstead hosted the Sussex County Open Meeting on 7th June 2015. Several of our members attended and were successful in picking up several prizes. Full results are available on the SCSBRA website.

Malcolm Brain and Andy Meyers reached the final for the Sutton Gold Cup. Graham Rowcroft, Sheena Wilde, and Sam Kettle reached the final for the Eastbourne NALGO Trophy.

International Dewar Match Trial 2015

The trial for the International Dewar Match was held at Appleton Range near Warrington on 20th June. The match is a postal competition which pits the best twenty shooter and coach combinations from Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States against each other.

Eley Batch Testing #1

Fifteen members took advantage of the Eley mobile testing facility at the weekend. Everyone found out that their barrels can shoot straighter than they can!

Results were interesting with Edge performing better than Match and Tenex in some instances! Click here to see one of the better groups developing over the course of ten shots.

Thwaites 03 May 2015

GENTS GET A LOOK IN

After last years clean sweep by the Ladies, the gents got a look in at this years Thwaites hosted at East Grinstead TSC. Over 30 shoooters attended the event on Sunday including one from as far afield as Scotland. The morning was blighted by continuous drizzle but did at least have the benefit of subdued lighting!
