Weather Plays it's Part

Blustery conditions on Saturday and calmer conditions on Sunday meant that the prize winners were biased towards those that shot on Sunday.

Wilson Wins

Richard Wilson (Shanklin R&PC) managed to master the conditions and won Class A with a respectable score of 588 ex 600. Saturday's conditions were light cloud with little wind. Sunday followed with variable sun/cloud and warmer temperatures.

Nick wins the Day

Nick Mullins (5th Sussex HG) managed to master the variable conditions and came out top in A Class with a magnificent score of 594 ex 600. The threatened wind and rain just about held off until after shooting finished on both days but that didn't mean the conditions were easy.

This year the match attracted 48 entries, including nine members of the Kenyan Rifle Team who were with us on Friday for a smallbore training session, having previously competed at Bisley in fullbore competitions, and stayed for the weekend to gain competition experience.

English Match 2014 - Top Three Separated by Two Points

Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th September 2014:

The top three shooters were separated by only two points after an intense match undertaken by 37 competitors in interesting conditions. In the end, Tony Wells (Cuckfield) and Russell French (Chichester) were tied for top spot and were only seperated by one point on countback with Tony Wells coming out as the winner, continuing from his successful 2nd place in the April shoot earlier in the year.
